What happens if I don’t spend all my funding before my plan ends?

Under the 2026 framework, funding is typically released in 3-month periods rather than as one large annual sum.

  • Rollover: If you don’t spend all your funds within 3 months, the remaining balance usually rolls over to the next period within that same plan.
  • Plan Expiry: However, once your plan reaches its official end date, any unspent funds do not roll over into your new plan.
  • Reviewing Support: If you are consistently under-spending, it’s a good idea to talk to a Support Coordinator or Local Area Coordinator (LAC). They can help you identify any barriers to accessing the services you need, so your next budget accurately reflects your requirements.
