What Certificates or Screenings do I need to renew?

Understanding which certificates need to be renewed and which simply require refreshers is essential for staying compliant and continuing to work safely as a disability support worker. At Blu Sky Care, we’re committed to ensuring all staff meet current NDIS standards while maintaining high-quality support for our participants.

 

Expiring NDIS Worker Screening Check
If your screening check expires, you may not be legally allowed to continue working with participants. We recommend applying for renewal at least 90 days before expiry.

 

Validity: 5 years | Cost: $140++

 

How can I renew?

  • Log In: Access your NDIS Worker Screening portal account.
  • Submit Application: Select the “Renew” option. You will need to verify your identity and pay the renewal fee.
  • Notify Blu Sky Care: Once you have submitted your application, provide the “Application ID” to the Blu Sky Care administration team so they can link your application to the organisation and verify your status.

 

Timing: It is recommended to start this process 3 months before expiry to ensure there is no lapse in your eligibility to work


 

Expiring Working with Children Check (WWCC)
If you support participants under 18, this check is required.

 

Validity: 5 years | Cost: $123.20++

 

How can I renew?

  • Log In: Go to the SA.GOV.AU Screening Page.
  • Submit Application: Select “Apply for a check”.
  • Notify Blu Sky Care: Once you receive your new SRN (Screening Reference Number) or your cleared status via email, you must provide these details to us. We will then “Register an Interest” in you via our Employer Portal to stay compliant.

 

Timing: It is recommended to start this process 3 months before expiry to ensure there is no lapse in your eligibility to work

 


 

Expiring Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

 

Validity: 1 year | Cost: $50~$60++

 


 

Expiring Manual Handling 

 

Validity: 1 year | Cost: $50~$60++
