What is behaviour supports?

Positive behaviour support is a way of helping people who have difficulties in communicating their needs and feelings, and who may show behaviours that are challenging or risky for themselves or others.

We work with each person and their family or carers to create a behaviour support plan that includes strategies to prevent, reduce and respond to challenging behaviours. We also teach new skills and make changes in the environment to improve the person’s quality of life and social inclusion.
